Our Training Philosophy: Commitment to The Humane Hierarchy. 

 This means we always begin training with the gentlest, most effective positive methods available. It is a common misconception that organizations outright ban certain equipment. In reality, the framework ethically allows the use of tools like prong collars or e-collars when they are necessary for the immediate physical safety of the handler, the public, or the dog. We believe in total transparency: If a dog’s safety, human safety, or rehoming risk becomes an extreme factor, and all other positive methods have been exhaustively tried and documented without success, we are open to assessing these advanced tools as a compliant, last-resort option. Our Step-by-Step Training Hierarchy:

Step 1: Wellness & Biological Needs – Checking for medical issues, pain, nutrition gaps, or environmental stress.

Step 2 or 7 dog owners choice: Environmental Management – Changing the setting or setup to prevent the unwanted behavior from happening.

Step 3: Positive Reinforcement – Rewarding desired behaviors with high-value treats, toys, praise, and play.

Step 4: Differential Reinforcement – Teaching and heavily rewarding an alternative, incompatible good behavior.

Step 5: Extinction & Negative Punishment – Withholding rewards or briefly removing attention to decrease a bad behavior.

Step 6: Last-Resort Tools (Prong or Static/E-Collar) – Used exclusively when Steps 1 through 5 are thoroughly exhausted, documented as ineffective, and the immediate physical safety of the handler or dog is actively at risk. 

The reason we operate like this and the reason they allow it is because a your safety your dog safety and the safety of the public come first. We operate like this because we live where we can run into situations with dangerous wildlife.

They are not to be used lightly and there are situations where they should never be used as in an aggressive dog.

With over 20 years of experience training dogs—as well as working with shelter and hunting dogs overseas—I have realized that no two dogs are the same. They all require a unique, tailored approach.
